Music for Spiritual Cleansing and Grounding

Hello, my Sacred Seers,

How are you today? Are you taking care of yourself? Are you pouring into yourself and nurturing your mind, body, and spirit? Are you staying on top of your cleansing rituals and ensuring your protective shields and energy fields are recharged?

Let’s start with a little honesty and transparency. All of these things often get lost or pushed to the bottom of the list in our day to day lives, especially when combined with the demands of adulting. In times like these, and honestly, for me, all the time, it’s important to keep things simple and make them fun when possible. Even integrating them into parts of your day and routine.

When my energy is low and I need to cleanse my inner and outer space, there are many things I do. Today, I’m going to share one that is both effective and easy to implement: music.

We all understand how music can affect us when we hear our favorite song or something from the past that brings back memories. Now think, if music can do that, imagine its power when used intentionally in your spiritual practice. I think we can all agree that music holds energy. It can hype you up, calm you down, soothe your nerves, or help you express emotions, from sensuality to anger. When used intentionally, it can ground you, clear negative energy from a space, release heaviness, and usher you into higher vibrational energy.

This is how I use music for myself in various moods. Below, I’ve created a little cheat sheet to help you get started. Simply choose your favorite platform, whether with ads (usually free) or without (typically paid), and you’re well on your way. I personally grew up listening to the radio and watching TV, where commercials interrupted songs, and tv shows, so I’m used to ads. I just channel my inner listener and pretend I’m tuning into my favorite radio station. You can opt for popular platforms like Spotify or Apple Music, or think outside the box. Create playlists on YouTube and play them from the main platform, or use YouTube Music to listen and download playlists to your phone.

I love creating playlists so that anytime I need to nurture myself in different ways, I can choose the one that fits the moment. No matter where I am, whether in the car, at the office with headphones in, doing chores, or running errands, I know I am able to fit it in so I can take care of myself. My favorite combo? Pairing music with dancing for the ultimate release and rebalancing, and dare I say, singing and belting out a tune with all your heart can be damn near medicinal.

As a seer, you and I both know that you can’t afford to put off taking care of yourself, your energy, or your gifts. You need to find realistic ways to fit them into your everyday life. Below are some suggestions, take a look and let me know what you think. Or better yet, share your own ways of using music in your spiritual practice!

Music Paired with Moods

  • Rain Sounds – I use it when I’m emotional and need comforting. I also use it as a protective shield during prayer and manifestation work. Water is known to protect, and I speak over it to safeguard my words from those who mean me harm. Let’s be real: you’re not the only one tapping into the spiritual realm, so ensure you’re covered from any unwanted energies.
  • Tongue Drum Music – The sound gives me the energy to dive deep into my gifts while doing altar work, whether with my money and love bowls, stones, or chakra work. It sets the perfect tone.
  • Native American Flute Music – Not sure if it’s because it’s part of my ancestry or its mid level energy, that’s not too high like singing bowls or too low like drums. It’s balanced, which is exactly what I use it for. If I’m feeling anxious and need to recenter, this helps me achieve that.
  • Tibetan Singing Bowls – This is my go to daily practice. When I wake up, I lean over and press play. When I close down the house at night, I do the same. I send out morning prayers and greetings as well as nighttime gratitudes, protection, cleansing, and alignment. I ask for the sound and vibration of the bowls to move through my being and home, clearing old and negative energy while balancing and grounding existing positive energy.

Now usually, you can find some that are 2+ hours long so you don’t have to make a playlist. But for the times when I need to release anger and sadness, or express my sensual femininity, happiness, or manifestations, this is when you really get to work your magic and create various playlists that match. These playlists don’t have to be rushed like a test due first thing in the morning. Take your time to curate them, adding songs as you go. Tap into the present moment when you hear something that resonates, whether out and about or on social media, and add it to the playlist that matches the emotion or intention you felt when you heard it. Some of my playlist names include Soul ConnectingRelax Around the HouseFeeling MyselfDance, and Remember When. Based on the titles alone, you can probably guess the kind of music and the purpose behind each one.

Alright beautiful people, those are some of my music tips to help you take care of you and your spiritual gifts in the best way possible all while keeping it simple.

Until next time, love you lots! – Sacred
