This Week’s Tarot Reading: The Four of Knives/Swords (March 17th – 23rd) – A Time for Stillness and Reflection

As I present this week’s Tarot card of the week, let’s just say it’s an interesting time in the spiritual realm. We had a blood full moon, a tornado watch with winds that sounded like giants were playing soccer outside, and Mercury retrograde decided to grace us with its presence, coming in like a wrecking ball. Oh, and spring will be starting at the end of this coming week. Ok…now, exhale with me, because I’ve been holding my breath all weekend long. When this card popped up, I immediately knew it was for me, and I needed to get it together—to get back in alignment spiritually and mentally with my highest self and life.

There’s no better way for me to make the necessary adjustments than by being still and quiet, just as the Four of Knives urges us to do. This card reminds us that as we finish one major task, before diving into the next one full steam ahead, we need to take a moment to decompress. We need to be still, evaluate what has happened, and what is happening. We need to allow our mind and body a break to regroup and recharge.

When you’re in a transitional period, like I am, it can be taxing on your mental health. The changes, the adjustments, the uncertainty of what’s next—add in a full blood moon and Mercury retrograde, and it can be a spicy recipe for disaster. This card urges you not to move so quickly with knee-jerk reactions but to be still, and clear out any mental clutter you may be collecting during the process.

It actually came in right on time because this whole phase has been spiritually taxing, and I haven’t experienced one this intense in a long time. With my emotions all over the place, when I drew this card, I knew I was out of alignment with my highest purpose. That I needed to shift my focus from the whirling winds (both figuratively and literally—nature is so interesting in how it mimics what’s going on in the spiritual and natural world) and return my focus to the things of the spirit: that which is whole, loving, joyful, peaceful, and balanced.

So, as I thank my spiritual tribe for getting this message to me before it got too far out of hand, I share with you the message of the Four of Knives. This card encourages rest, recovery, and reflection. It urges you to take a break from life’s stressors so you can heal and recharge, allowing time for mental clarity and inner peace.

Love you lots!
