The greatest blessing

One year I experienced my greatest blessing! It was to stop living in my future or my past, but be present in the Now. At any giving moment I would think about something that happened two days ago, while in the next moment thinking of how I wanted something to happen next week or month. I was hardly ever present, for long, in the moment of now. When I allowed my mind to float from past to future, never allowing it to rest in the present, I was actually robbing myself of the gift of Now. Every day is the gift of a new beginning from GOD. The past doesn’t exist, and the uncertainty of tomorrow can’t threaten you. You are ever-present in the safety of NOW. Think about it, right NOW, do you have a place to lay your head? Don’t think about what happened yesterday or what might happen tomorrow, but right NOW, at this precise moment. I know you are sick in your body, but have you gone on to see the LORD, right NOW?  I don’t care what the doctors said yesterday, or how you MIGHT feel tomorrow, but do you have the breath of life in you right NOW?!  See, this precise moment, this day, this hour, this minute, this very second is all you really have that is certain. Yet we miss them and throw them away as if they don’t matter, shoot those minutes add up quickly! If you don’t believe me ask yourself, out of 365 days of this year, name every encounter that you can remember that made an impact on your life. Now add those days, moments, hours, minutes, seconds together, and subtract them from 365 days. Whatever you have left after this simple calculation is the number of days you did not LIVE, possibly because you were not present enough to even take note that the day even existed or had any relevant meaning to you. Someone once asked me, how is it possible to live in the NOW and prepare for the future? We were speaking of dating and preparing for marriage at the time. Well it shouldn’t look like this, every one you date you try to visualize them as your potential mate. You are too far in the future! Nor should you compare them with those that you have dated in the past, this goes for negative qualities as well as positive ones. In order to do so you would have to step back into your past to make the comparison. It should look like this, here is an individual who is uniquely different from anyone else on this planet, and they deserve your full non-opinionated attention void of unreasonable expectations. Enjoy them and what it presents to you at that moment! Maybe if you were 100% present (whether at the job, in marriage, dating etc…) it would automatically pave the way for a better tomorrow which at some point will always eventually end up being… NOW!  In Matthew 6:34 it says, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Matter of fact read all of Matthew 6. It presents the question, “what do you have to gain from worrying?” It doesn’t solve your problem or make it go away, so why worry? Trust and believe that GOD knows that you have need of all these things. The Lord’s Prayer says, “Give us this day, our DAILY bread.” HE will make provision for your DAILY needs. Yet if you are in your past and depressed, or not giving yourself permission to feel completely successful until this or that happens in the future, then you missed your DAILY bread. Daily bread is only available for pick up when you are present in the NOW and every day offers new bread. Some of us, by the time we show up in the present, our bread is stale!   I never realized how hard it would be to stay in the precise moment of now, but by the grace of GOD, I’m getting the hang of it. I can live in my NOW because I allow my future to stay in the future, and I’m forgiving and forgetting the events of my past. Look, I’m not sure how it happened, or when it happened, but I definitely remember being determined to forget!
