40 Days

                   OK, so I started this thing last Friday I call, 40 days. Think of it as a fast, but not necessarily from food. I got to thinking last week about all the things I kept saying I’m going to do, want to do, or should do, but never do, or at least not with much consistency. I will be 40 in less than 2 years, and things haven’t panned out the way I expected them to, the least I can do for myself is live life the way I envisioned it, at least in the areas that I have right now control over. So I made a list, which was long, of simple and not so simple things that I want to change or incorporate in my life. Research says that it takes 30 to 45 days to change a habit; they also say eating healthy, going to bed early, to quit smoking, exercise daily, yadda yadda yadda are all good for you. So I decided to see if what THEY say is true, for 40 days I will do the things I want to do to give me a healthy, better way of living. If I don’t see any improvement worth the effort, I give myself permission to go back to the old. Think of this as a mind trick for the flesh. It’s like telling a child that is visibly tired to lay down for 5mins and if they can do that then after that time is up they can watch all the TV they want, knowing that they will fall asleep. “smile”  I will post before and after pictures and do follow up post on how I’m doing. Trust me; you will know what was on my list by just reading the post.  This is my journey…

  1. I LOVE THIS!!! I will do this with you…I love a challenge and plus I need some inspiration to get my butt into gear! Already vowed to change my eating habits so I will follow with daily exercise as well for 40 days…
